Gypsy Breeland

Gypsy Breeland
Beginning of September 2015, my husband and I lost our awesome cat Batman. We were grieving so much and the house felt empty (despite our other awesome cats and dogs). We weren’t planning on another cat but later on in the month I spotted some kittens onLonely Miaow, and one little tabby girl just stole my heart. Hubby is a cat nut too, so it didn’t really take much convincing.
We went and picked her up – small, extremely frightened. We brought her home and for the next few weeks she hid in one corner of her bedroom. If we came in she froze, with her face pressed into the corner. My husband would lie with her for hours on the floor, just talking to her softly, and slowly slowly she started to come out. It took a few months but eventually she started to explore the house and even get up on the couch with us. My husband was (and still is!) her favourite. She became quietly happy, but if we made a sudden noise or someone came over, she ran and hid.
Then we got another kitten – a rambunctious naughty silly little girl – and the two bonded. They played together, slept together and learnt to trust together. Ten months later we have a little tabby princess called Gypsy Breeland who now sleeps on the bed, plays and gives snuggles. She still hides if anyone else comes over but when it’s just us – she’s content. Safe. Warm. Her start in life wasn’t good, but we promise the rest of her life will be.
Along with her sister Katniss Jellybean, she has a long and happy life ahead of her. Thank you Lonely Miaow for giving her a chance, and for mending our hearts.
